Skill Level: Beginner – Easy
Size: 9,5 inch width, 7,5 inch height, 1 inch depth
Materials: 5 mm (US H-8) hook, Sport / Light DK yarn; 100 gram approx 230 m. (wpi: 13), button, scissors, yarn needle.
Stitches Used: Chain stitches (ch), stitch (st), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), triple crochet (tr).
Note: I have tried with a Netbook and iPad. For iPad2 you can change the edge and the base to be narrower if you wish.
Instruction
Row 1: With red yarn, ch 47, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each ch across, turn. (44 hdc)
Row 2 – 12: ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc in each hdc across, turn. (44 hdc)
Row 13: ch 2 (counts as first hdc on every row of the pattern), hdc in each of next 32 hdc, drop red yarn to wrong side, join black yarn and hdc in each of next 5 hdc, drop black yarn to wrong side, pick up red yarn and hdc in each of last 6 hdc, turn.
Row 14: Hdc in each hdc across; ch2 and 4 hdc red, 7 hdc with black, 32 hdc with red, turn.
Row 15: Hdc in each hdc across; ch2 and 30 hdc red, 9 hdc with black, 4 hdc with red, turn.
Row 16: Hdc in each hdc across; ch2 and 3 hdc red, 9 hdc with black, 31 hdc with red, turn.
Row 17: Hdc in each hdc across; ch2 and 29 hdc red, 11 hdc with black, 3 hdc with red, turn.
Row 18: Hdc in each hdc across; ch2 and 2 hdc red, 11 hdc with black, 30 hdc with red, turn.
Row 19: Hdc in each hdc across; ch2 and 29 hdc red, 2 hdc with black, 2 hdc with red, 3 hdc with black, 2 hdc with red, 2 hdc with black, 3 hdc with red turn.
Row 20: Hdc in each hdc across; ch2 and 2 hdc red, 1 hdc with black, 4 hdc with red, 1 hdc with black, 4 hdc with red, 1 hdc with black, 30 hdc with red turn.
Row 21: Hdc in each hdc across; ch2 and 28 hdc red, 3 hdc with black, 2 hdc with red, 3 hdc with black, 2 hdc with red, 3 hdc with black, 2 hdc with red turn.
Row 22: Hdc in each hdc across; ch2 and 1 hdc red, 6 hdc with black, 1 hdc with red, 6 hdc with black, 29 hdc with red turn.
Row 23: Hdc in each hdc across; ch2 and 28 hdc red, 3 hdc with black, 1 hdc with red, 1 hdc with black, 1 hdc with red, 1 hdc with black, 1 hdc with red, 1 hdc with black, 1 hdc with red, 3 hdc with black, 2 hdc with red turn.
Row 24: Hdc in each hdc across; ch2 and 4 hdc red, 2 hdc with black, 1 hdc with red, 1 hdc with black, 1 hdc with red, 2 hdc with black, 32 hdc with red turn.
Row 25: Hdc in each hdc across; ch2 and 32 hdc red, 5 hdc with black (fasten off black yarn), 6 hdc with red, turn.
Row 26 – 27: ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc in each hdc across, turn. (44 hdc)
Row 28: (base of the sleeve) ch 4 (counts as first tr), tr in each hdc across, turn. (44 tr)
(for iPad2: ch 2 (counts as first dc), dc in each hdc across, turn)
Row 29: ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc in each dc across, turn. (44 hdc)
Row 30 – 55: ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc in each hdc across, turn. (44 hdc)
Row 56 – 59:(flap) ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each hdc across, turn. (44 dc)
Row 60: ch 2, hdc in next 2 dc, dc in each next 35 dc, hdc in next 3 dc, turn. (41)

Edges (make 2)
With black yarn, ch 37, dc 4th chain from hook, dc in each next ch to last chain, 6 dc in last ch; working on opposite side of foundation chain, dc in next 31 ch, 5 dc in last ch, join with sl st to turning chain. Fasten off. (for iPad2: ch 37, sc 2nd chain from hook, sc in each next ch to last chain, 6 sc in last ch; working on opposite side of foundation chain, sc in next 31 ch, 5 sc in last ch, join with sl st to turning chain)
Sewing the edges
Sew the both edges to each side of the sleeve as shown in the next picture.
Sewing the button
Sew the button on Row11 or Row12 as shown in the next picture. Or you can close the flap and determine the buttons location by the hole on the flap.
