This beanie is made with simple stitches and worked in the round. It has a relaxed fit and a clean look. You can wear it with many outfits or make it as a handmade gift.
Size:
Fits all size adult heads. (stretchy). Height: 11 inch
Needle:
6 mm (US 10) circular needle and 6 mm double pointed needles (dpn)
Yarn:
1 ball of 100 gram, approx 215 yards/196m. (Brand used: King Cole Moorland Aran)
(Wraps per inch: 8 wpi)
Notion:
Place marker (pm), Large-Eye Blunt Needles.

Stitches and Abbreviation:
Cast on (CO), Stitches (sts), Knit (k), Knit 2 together (k2tog)
Gauge:
6 mm (US 10) needle, 16 sts and 24 row 4"
Note: Hat is worked from lower edge up to the top of hat. Hat is worked in the Rnd; begin with a circular needle, then changing to double-pointed needles.
Instructions
With circular needle, CO 80 sts. Place marker for beg of rnd. Join by working the first st on left hand needle with the working yarn from the right hand needle, being careful not to twist sts.
Rnd 1 to 60: Knit to end of rnd – 80 sts at the end of this rnd.
Decreasing (Shaping the top of the hat)
Rnd 61: *K6, k2tog; rep from * to end of rnd – 70 sts at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 62: *K5, k2tog; rep from * to end of rnd – 60 sts.
Rnd 63: *K4, k2tog; rep from * to end of rnd – 50 sts.
Rnd 64: *K3, k2tog; rep from * to end of rnd – 40 sts.
Rnd 65: *K2, k2tog; rep from * to end of rnd – 30 sts.
Rnd 66: *K1, k2tog; rep from * to end of rnd – 20 sts.
Change to double pointed needles (dpn) this way:
transfer first dpn 6 sts, second dpn 4 sts, third dpn 6 sts, last dpn 4 sts
Rnd 67: *K2tog; rep from * to end of rnd – 10 sts at the end of this rnd.
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through remaining sts and pull to gather. Knot securely.
